CENTRAL celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2024, marking a decade of successful strategic partnerships within its network. To commemorate this milestone, a new flagship project for 2024 offered both established scholars and young researchers the opportunity to present and discuss current research on Central European topics, both within academic circles and to the broader public.
To support this initiative, CENTRAL funded a joint scientific conference in the autumn of 2024, inviting scientists to submit proposals. The conference featured one public event and the publication of the conference proceedings.
This conference also provided an opportunity to expand collaborative efforts with the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The confirmation of participation by scholars from Ukraine was advantageous to the applicants and secured additional funding to cover travel expenses.
Conference Topic
The theme of the conference focused on current developments in Central Europe and aligned with the CENTRAL theme, "What Unites Us and What Divides Us."
