Since 2024, the University of Sussex has been organizing the International Junior Research Associate Scheme (IJRA) summer research program, offering one place for a student from Charles University each year.

Deadline for applications for the call International Junior Research Associate Scheme (IJRA) 2026 has now passed.
The next call 2027 is scheduled to open in February 2027.
The program is open to second-year and third-year (undergraduate) students who are interested in participating in research under expert supervision at the University of Sussex during the summer.
Currently, in 2026, the University of Sussex is offering one place for one student per each project from Charles University.
Participants will work on an 8-week research project (29 June – 21 August 2026) that will allow them to collaborate with leading academics, develop professional skills, and establish valuable international contacts.
Participation in the program does not entitle students to ECTS credits.

This year's projects were prepared by the Faculty of Science Engineering and Medicine - Department of Engineering and Design.

As part of the International Junior Research Associate Scheme call, topics in the field of humanities, specifically queer issues, were announced in 2024 and 2025.
Students from the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University participated in the projects.
Based on the positive feedback from participating students at Charles University, we are very pleased that the International Junior Research Associate Scheme will continue in the coming years.
