Since 2024, the University of Sussex has been organizing the International Junior Research Associate Scheme (IRJA) summer research program, offering one place for a student from Charles University each year.
Currently, in 2026, the University of Sussex is offering one place for a student from Charles University. The program is designed for talented and ambitious students who are interested in participating in research under expert supervision at the University of Sussex during the summer.
Participants will work on an 8-week research project that will allow them to collaborate with leading academics, develop professional skills, and establish valuable international contacts. This year's project was prepared by the Faculty of Science Engineering and Medicine - Department of Engineering and Design. Participation in the program does not entitle students to ECTS credits.
Please send student nominations along with the required documents to by 9 March 2026. The final selection of students will be made by the University of Sussex.

As part of the International Junior Research Associate Scheme call, topics in the field of humanities, specifically queer issues, were announced in 2024 and 2025.
