In 2023, the administration of Charles University decided to support the university’s strategic centers using funds from the Fund for the Support of Strategic Partnerships.
The funding was approved for two years, that is, through 2025. It was subsequently extended through the end of 2027.
Fund for the Support of Strategic Partnerships supports following strategic centres:
Herzl Center for Israel Studies (HCIS, Faculty of Arts of CU) + Hebrew and Jewish Studies (Faculty of Arts of CU)
Centre for African Studies (CAFR, Faculty of Social Sciences of CU) + Institute of Political Studies (Faculty of Social Sciences of CU)
The rules for drawing down allocated funds are governed by the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports indicators, which the individual faculties have contractually committed to meet. These include:
