Charles University is expanding its list of strategic partners to include two Taiwanese universities—National Taiwan University (NTU) and National Chengchi University (NCCU).
These partnerships were formalized by Vice-Rector Karel Kouba, who is leading a group of Charles University representatives in Taiwan as part of a delegation headed by Miloš Vystrčil, President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic.

Nine diverse projects (concerning e.g. philology, history or AI studies) of final 15 projects has been approved under the 2026/2027 CENTRAL Joint workshops call for proposals. We look forward to seeing the progress of the approved projects over the coming year.

On 14 May 2026 the Fund for the Support of Strategic Partnerships opened a call for project proposals for the period 2026/2027.
The call supports the continuation and expansion of cooperation with existing strategic partners, as well as the establishment and development of cooperation with partner institutions in Taiwan.
