    Karel Schwarzenberg Memorial Event

    On the afternoon of Tuesday 13th May (14.30 – 17.00 hours CET / 13.30 – 16.00 hours UK time), the Europaeum and Charles University will be organising a special joint event to honour the life and work of Karel Schwarzenberg, the Czech democracy campaigner and foreign minister who served as a Europaeum Trustee for many years. The sub-theme of the meeting will be the Future of Democracy in Europe today.



    The event will be chaired by Dr Andrew Graham, Chair of Trustees of the Europaeum, and  Prof. PhDr. Eva Voldřichová Beránková, PhD, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Charles University, and will be introduced by Prof. JUDr. Jan Kuklík, PhD, Charles University.


    Speakers will include Dr Barbara TóthMichael Žantovský; Prof. Timothy Garton Ash; doc. Dr. habil. MA PhDr. Petra Guasti, PhD; Dr Jakub Franěk; and Prof. Jacques Rupnik.


    Participants can join the event either in person or online


    If you would like to attend in person, please register in advance using this link. The event will take place at Charles University, Blue Auditorium, Celetná 20, Prague 1. For those joining in person, refreshments will be provided from 17.00 – 18.00 hours CET following the event.
